Fantasy Hockey: Daily Goalie Rankings – 3/27/23

Welcome to our goalie rankings brought to you by NHL Lines Betway!

Trying to decide which goaltenders to start with is a dilemma that Fantasy Hockey owners face on a daily basis.

At DailyFaceoff, we try to make owning Fantasy as easy as possible. Each day, we’ll rank the day’s starting goalies based on their projected winning percentage, goals against average, and SV%. Winning percentage and expected goals against are generated from sports betting odds and implied totals.

Along with the starting goalkeeper ratings table, we’ll have a description of the best streaming options for that day (if any).

Keep an eye on our Starting Guardians page to make sure the goals listed below are CONFIRMED to get started.

Streaming Targets 🎯

There are a few streaming options to consider on Monday, but since it’s the start of a crucial week, you don’t want to get stuck behind the 8-ball making a bad call on the first night.

Jack Campbell (EDM) is available in 50% of leagues and has the highest implied winning percentage of any goalkeeper on Mondays. However, he allowed at least four goals in six straight starts (1-1-3) while posting a nasty .850 SV%. Also, the Coyotes have been playing well lately, especially at home. They have gone 6-0-1 while averaging 4.1 goals per game in their last seven games at Mullett Arena. Sports betting suggests that Campbell is a great starting point, but it comes with obvious risks/disadvantages.

Jonas Johansson (LOC) also draws a solid game to start the week, facing a Ducks team without Troy Terry. Johansson played admirably in his first NHL start of the season, stopping 32 of 36 shots in a win at Ottawa on March 16. He also posted a .918 SV % in 25 AHL games this season, so he argued you might finally be able to trust him. However, he’s also the same goaltender with a career 0.884 SV% in 34 NHL games, so there’s definitely a risk even in a comfortable game.

Lately, Eric Comrie (BUF) is coming off a 26-save shutout against the Islanders on Saturday, but allowed 10 goals to start before that. Overall, he has a 3.72 GAA and 0.882 SV% on the season, and the Sabers could do without Tage Thompson (upper body). The Canadians have been playing competitively for the past few weeks, so this may not be as good a game as it initially looks.

All three goalies are heavy favorites and good bets to win you tonight, but they could all hurt your division into the category leagues.
