Fabregas advised Barca to sign Tchouaméni

Cesc Fabregas spoke about Aurélien Tchouaméni in the program « El Partidazo de COPE ». The former FC Barcelona player says he recommended the Frenchman to Blaugranas but it couldn’t happen due to financial issues.

Fabregas, in the home stretch of his career, has chosen to join the Como project, a team currently playing in the Italian Serie B. The Spaniard said he was very enthusiastic about taking up this challenge. « It’s the perfect project. I will be an important player, I will be able to continue playing football at an optimal level and progress with the young people. We are here to hold on and play for a few more years. I still have gas left » .

The Spaniard then spoke about a possible return to Barça: « As a Barça fan, I hope and wish that he comes back. He has one year left in Paris. It is a dream that the club and all the fans have. Football is very capricious. I speak to you as a fan ».

On the other hand, Fabregas praised Real Madrid rookie Tchouaméni, with whom he played at Monaco: « I know him very well. I spoke to people from Barca to tell them to sign him I thought he was a great player for the future, but financially it was not possible to sign him. I gave my opinion to another former team and finally he went to the rival club. He know how to take advantage of market opportunities.

He spoke about his former team-mate Gerard Pique: « If he’s fit, he’s still a guaranteed centre-back. Last year he forced a lot to play at times when he wasn’t really well. In the end, it is clear that the years go by, but he always tried to defend the club ».

Also, Fabregas succinctly explained what happened with Las Palmas, the team that tried to sign him. « I had a coffee in Ibiza with García Pimienta. He explained the project to me and I liked him a lot football-wise, but in Como they offered me a lot of things. One day we will tell the history of Las Palmas. We will talk about it in more detail », he concluded.
