exceptional Porsches at auction

For Retromobile 2023, the Artcurial auction house is presenting 300 vehicles. Among them, a very nice selection of Mercedes-Benz from the 80s but also a heterogeneous selection of Porsches that have marked several generations. Upstream of the sale, Abcacteur presents them to you.

Porsche 356 Pre-A 1500 1951

The Porsche 356 is the first production of the German manufacturer. This coupé presented in 1949 stands out in its first series with its integrated bumpers and its two-part windscreen. The example of this sale is one of its first versions, leaving the factories on October 26, 1951, it is equipped with the 1500 cm3 engine with a power of 60 horsepower known as type 527. Its estimate is 280,000 at €380,000.

Porsche 959

The Porsche 959 is one of the stars of the Lustrerie Mathieu exhibition, but it will also be one of the stars of the Artcurial sale at Retromobile. This model is derived from a 911 specially for homologation in Rally Group B but it was on the Paris-Dakar that it distinguished itself. His Flat 6 develops 450 horsepower and is connected to 4-wheel drive, an innovation for a supercar of the time. She manages to do the 0 to 100 km / h in 3.7 seconds and she knows how to reach 314 km / h. The example in question is distinguished by its exclusive Paint To Sample paintwork which is a pearly white and its complementary Rouge Cartier interior. Artcurial estimates the price of this car, which paved the way for the Carrera GT and the 918, at between €850,000 and €1,250,000.

Porsche Carrera GT

The Porsche Carrera GT marked all children born in the 90s and 2000s. Its V10 produces a divine sound and it has a conductor who replaces his baton with a mechanical gearbox lever. With 5.7 liters of displacement, this engine develops a power of 612 horsepower for a light car that does not exceed 1,380 kg and travels up to 330 km/h. This is a red copy, rather rare (the same color as that of Paul Walker) among the 1,269 copies produced, it has only covered 19,673 km. Its price is estimated between 1,100,000 and 1,500,000€.

Porsche 962C

The Porsche 962 is an evolution of the Porsche 956 which won the 24 Hours of Le Mans. An evolution generated by an evolution of the regulation which imposes that the feet of the driver are placed behind the front axle. The engine is identical, it remains a flat 6-cylinder turbo with the PDK gearbox. She won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1986, 1987 and 1991 and even became world endurance champion. The copy in question is one of the 77 produced by Porsche, it finished 5th in the 24 hours of Suzuka with Steven Andskär and George Fouché.
