Nat Sciver and Danni Wyatt shared a century-long stand as England won the third T20I to claim a series victory
Danni Wyatt smashed 89 unbeaten on 56 balls, as England claimed a 10-6 win in their multi-format series with India thanks to an eight-wicket win in the third and final T20I at Chelmsford on Wednesday night.
Chasing 154 to win, Wyatt shared a 112-point stand for the second wicket with Nat Sciver (42 of 36), and although Sciver missed 22 points from the victory goal, Wyatt hit the winning points with eight balls to spare.
A win for India would have seen them instead claim the T20 stage of their 2-1 tour and tie the multi-format series, and they seemed to stand a chance by posting a decent total of 153-6 after choosing to strike first. .
The outlook for the visitors improved further when Deepti Sharma (1-29) trapped Tammy Beaumont for 11 in the fourth quarter, but a welcome return to form for Wyatt – who was dropped for the ODI stage of the series – saw England achieve victory.
Earlier, fast English veteran Katherine Brunt (2-27) won her personal duel with 17-year-old superstar Shafali Verma, bowling her for a two-ball duck in the opening.

Harleen Deol (6) didn’t hang around for long, picking Sciver at the halfway short, who took a really good dive forward, but Mandhana and Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur then rebuilt.
The pair put in 68 for the third wicket, also in decent time, before Kaur (36 of 26) fell in weight to Sciver in the 13th. Mandhana, meanwhile, kicked off a 13th T20I fifty, on 42 balls.
Brunt came back to take the key wicket, Mandhana leaned into the deep midwicket for 70, while Sophie Ecclestone (3-35) claimed a late couple as India passed 150.

England’s collapse in pursuing a similar score of 149 at Hove on Sunday will be remembered fresh but, despite Beaumont’s early loss, there were no such swings on the occasion.
Wyatt raised his eighth half-century T20I, and the first in 19 games, with 33 balls, and went on to hit 12 limits and a six, with the opener especially strong when hitting over the floor or in covers .
Sciver, on the other hand, was a perfect foil and has retained its beautiful recent form. Sneh Rana (1-27) squeezed through his defenses in the 17th, but there was not to be a late host collapse on this occasion.
