Britain’s Jonathan Riley succeeds Poland’s Kamil Pawlowski at the Ferrari Velas Esports Series.
The The 2022 Ferrari Velas Esports Series season ended this weekend with the victory of Briton Jonathan Riley, who lifted the simracing competition champion trophy on Assetto Corsa Competizione. At the end of the series, and after the grand finale in Maranello, the top three riders from Europe and the top three from North America (for the first time in this tournament) competed for a championship title and a place in the Ferrari esports team.
The six sports stars traveled to Italy for a series of Ferrari-designed challenges and activations to test their skills, in front of a jury consisting of Arthur Leclerc, Ferrari Driver Academy team member and FIA Formula 3 driver, Tiziana Mecozzi, Ferrari Esports Manager, and Ferrari Esports Series 2021 winner Kamil Pawlowski. Riley particularly distinguished himself, and won valuable points, showing great consistency in the challenges. He finished with 44 points ahead of American Christopher Severt (35 points) and Canadian Mérick Lévêque (32).
