Elton John and Stevie Wonder unveil joint title, « Finish Line »
« It’s one of the best recordings I have ever made », said Elton John of his new album Lockdown Sessions
More than 35 years after single released in 1985, « That’s What Friends Are For », Elton john and Stevie Wonder got together on « Finish Line », the last single from John’s upcoming LP, The Lockdown Sessions.

Listen to « Finish Line »:
« I couldn’t be prouder of ‘Finish Line’ – I would even go so far as to say it’s one of the best recordings I’ve ever made »John said in a statement.
“Stevie’s voice is as good as it was back then, when I first heard him – he looks like he’s 17 again, he sings with pure joy and amazing exuberance. Andrew Watt did an incredible job on the production. It was a magical process. I’ve always enjoyed working with Stevie, and I’m delighted that after fifty years of friendship, we can finally make a true duo. He’s always been so nice and gentle to me, and his talent is so obvious it just becomes ridiculous. When we listen to what he does vocally on ‘Finish Line’, we tell ourselves that there is a real genius there. «
Wonder added: “It is both a joy and an honor to sing, play the piano and the harmonica for Elton. He is truly one of the great minds of music, life, friendship and love that I have encountered on this journey of life! Elton, whoever will hear your voice singing « Finish Line » will hear and feel your wisdom, your pain, your soul, your love, but also your resilience… I love it! Congratulations to you and our music, our friendship, our song (…) forever and ever! Long live Sir Elton John! «
The Lockdown Sessions arrive on 22 october (via Mercury Records). The LP includes collaborations with Dua Lipa (« Cold Heart »), Eddie Vedder, Stevie Nicks, Lil Nas X, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Young Thug, Charlie Puth, and many more.
