The Leopards of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) started this Tuesday May 31 the preparation of their 1st match of the qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations (CAN), Côte d’Ivoire 2023 against the Panthers of Gabon this Saturday 4 June at the Martyrs stadium.

Aware of the absence of the Congolese national team at the last edition of this celebration of African football, Yoane Wissa, striker from Brentford (D1 England), sets the target for this new campaign.

“It is with a spirit of revenge that we are going to start this qualifying campaign, hoping that it will be done with merit, especially with the objective of finding the Can because we were absent during the last edition. It was a disappointment for everyone. Now, we have the objective of returning to this competition and going as far as possible,” Yoane Wissa told the Congolese sports press.
