Sudan was to host Morocco this afternoon for the return match of the first round of the 2022 women’s CAN qualifiers. This match scheduled at Hilal Stadium Omdurman is postponed due to the current political situation in Sudan.
In a note sent to the governing body of Algerian football, the African Football Confederation (CAF) informed of the postponement of the Sudan – Algeria return meeting. Match counting for the penultimate round of the CAN 2022 qualifiers in Morocco.
Based on the latest socio-political actions and on the basis of the reports received from the match officials, it could be that the current conditions are hardly favorable to the progress of the meeting as planned, stressed CAF.
Consequently, CAF informs that the match initially scheduled for Tuesday October 26, 2021 is postponed to a later date. The governing body of African football is closely monitoring the situation in Sudan and is working to ensure that the visiting team, the Algerian women’s football team, and the match officials can return to their respective countries in complete safety.
