Porsche continues its foray into the world of electric bicycles by buying the German company Fazua.
After acquiring a 20% stake in January 2022, Porsche is now the owner of the maker of lightweight and compact e-bikes, such as the new Ride 60.
« With Fazua, we have found a solid partner with extensive experience in the bicycle sector », says Lutz Meschke, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche. “Fazua is known to experts as the founder of the ‘lightweight e-bike’ category – and it’s a very innovative company that fits perfectly with the pioneering spirit of the Porsche brand. »
Porsche’s future e-bike business will be brought together through the creation of two joint ventures with Dutch company Ponooc Investment BV The first will develop, manufacture and distribute a future generation of Porsch e-bikese, while the second will focus on technological solutions for the micromobility market.
Porsche is also continuing to work with its long-standing partner Rotwild on its current e-bike models. In March 2021, the company launched two exclusive models with the Porsche eBike Sport and the eBike Cross.
The German manufacturer also holds a majority stake in the Croatian brand of e-bikes Greyp.
