Egypt: Emam Ashour among the most expensive transfers in Zamalek

Zamalek SC have announced the signing of midfielder Emam Ashour with Danish club FC Midtjylland for four years for a fee of 3 million euros.

The Cairo club has repressed the coffers through this transfer, which is part of the Top 3 sales operated by the White Knights. Indeed, it comes just behind the transfers of Mohamed Mostafa to Galatasaray in 2022 (3.85 million euros) and Mahmoud Kahraba to Ittihad Jeddah in 2016 (3.35 million euros).

Ashour, FC Midtjylland’s fourth winter signing, is now also the third Egyptian to play in the Danish Superliga after Mohamed Zidan and Alexander Jakobsen.

FC Midtjylland manager Albert Capellas hopes Ashour can replace Brazilian midfielder Evander, who has moved to MLS club Portland Timbers.

FC Midtjylland currently sit seventh in the Danish Superliga table. Although they were knocked out of the Danish Cup in the fourth round by Viborg FF, they are still in contention in the UEFA Europa League where they will face Sporting CP in the round of 16.
