Drew Brees back? – Sports VAT

Former NFL quarterback Drew Brees caused quite a stir when he hinted that he could return to play on his social media on Sunday night.

« Despite media speculation about my future this fall, I am currently undecided, » he tweeted. I could work for NBC, I could play football again, I could focus on business and philanthropy, the senior golf circuit, coaching my kids’ teams or all of that. I’ll let you know. »

Brees made the statement after an article in the New York Post newspaper reported that he would not be returning to the NBC network in 2022. The former center was one of the NFL game analysts at this channel last year.

The 43-year-old retired from the NFL in March 2021, after his 20th career season and his 15th run with the New Orleans Saints.

Brees is currently second in Goodell League history, behind a certain Tom Brady, in passing yards (80,358) and passing touchdowns (571).

On Monday, Saints head coach Dennis Allen said he thought Brees was joking when he brought up a possible return to play.

“It was my wife who told me about it, because I am not on social networks. I thought it was interesting and it will raise questions tomorrow [lundi] during our golf tournament,” said the GM, whose remarks were reported by the NFL website.

« Certainly I think it was a joke and we certainly didn’t have any conversations about it. »

In 2022, the Saints should trust Jameis Winston as their starting quarterback. The New Orleans club have also hired veteran Andy Dalton to secure their backs.
