DRC – Ligue 1: FC Céleste rises, RCK relegated to lower division

The National Football League of the DRC has made public the list of clubs selected in Ligue 1 for the 2022-2023 season. Like previous editions, twenty clubs will go for the title.

FC Céleste, which finished leader of the second division, validated its ticket to the rise in the elite, while the Racing Club of Kinshasa was relegated to the antechamber of Congolese football.

According to the calendar established by FECOFA, the DRC football championship starts on October 1st. The number of clubs that will evolve in the elite is maintained at 20. There will therefore be a rise in Ligue 1 and a relegation. At the end of the past season, the Racing Club of Kinshasa occupied the twentieth and is therefore relegated to the second division. For its part, it was FC Céleste which dominated Ligue 2 and earned the merit of a rise in the first division. This is the first time that the club has discovered the elite.

A meeting is scheduled in the coming days between Linafoot, the FECOFA executive committee and the clubs to decide on the terms of the championship.
