Draw Tuesday in the presence of Radebe and Kalou

The draw for the group stage of the African Cup of Nations (CAN), Côte d’Ivoire 2023 qualifiers will take place this Tuesday, April 19 live at 5:30 p.m. GMT (6:30 p.m. Algerian time) at SuperSport studios in Johannesburg , in South Africa.

This draw will be carried out in the presence of the former internationals Lucas Radebe (South Africa) and Salomon Kalou (Ivory Coast), former winners of the Africa Cup of Nations, who will be the two assistants during this operation. Regarding the draw process, forty-eight (48) teams will be divided into twelve (12) groups of four (4) teams, with the top two teams qualifying for the tournament to be held in Ivory Coast.

The qualifying group stage will start in June 2022. So the former South African international defender Radebe and the former Ivorian striker Kalu will therefore be present with the director of competitions of the CIF Samson Adamu on stage for the draw. Lucas Radebe who wore the armband of the Bafana Bafanawas a member of the victorious South African team in Africa Cup of Nations 1996. He took part in four editions of the legendary African football tournament (1996, 1998, 2000 and 2002). He was also captain of the South African national team during the World Cups 1998 and 2002.

On his side, Salomon Kalu, former player of chelsea (Premier League English), played a providential role in the attack on the Elephants when they won the CAN 2015 in Equatorial Guinea. He has scored five goals in his six appearances at the flagship tournament (2008, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2017).
