NASCAR officials have just announced the postponement to Monday of the NASCAR Cup Series race scheduled for this Sunday at Dover Motor Speedway due to a forecast of consistent rain all day.
The Würth 400, the 11th race of the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season, will therefore take place tomorrow at 12 p.m. ET, or 6 p.m. French time.
On Friday, competition officials had already moved the start time an hour earlier due to poor forecasts. But the forecast of heavy rain and flooding in the Delaware capital eventually forced officials to postpone the race.
Rain also canceled Saturday’s Cup Series qualifying and all on-track activities scheduled for Friday. The starting grid had been established according to the regulations, placing Kyle Busch – last week’s winner at Talladega Superspeedway – in pole position.
The decision marks the second year in a row that the Dover race has been pushed back to a Monday by rain. Chase Elliott won last year’s event.
