FC Nantes in danger of relegation after another defeat against Brest, the direct competitor.

THE FC Nantes lives a nightmarish end to the season, with a 2-0 defeat against Brest in the league which has relegated them to the red zone and puts them in a precarious position for the future. It comes hot on the heels of their humiliating Coupe de France final loss to Toulouse which ended their dreams of a double.

In their game against Brest, Nantes lacked character and made a costly mistake when their goalkeeper Alban Lafont missed the ball on a clearance, thus providing an easy goal to Jeremy Le Douaron. They then conceded a second goal before the break, which finished their hopes. Although the tactical changes brought freshness in the second half, the Canaries failed to score.

The manager Antoine Koumbouare was disappointed with the result and acknowledged that his players needed to find a solution quickly, as they weren’t scoring enough and conceding too many goals. Their next game against Strasbourg is crucial for their survival in Ligue 1, but they must first find a way to bounce back mentally and physically.

FC Nantes have been through tough times lately, but Koumbouare remains confident that the team can get out of this difficult situation. However, they will have to show more determination and character in their next games if they want to avoid relegation. After the last defeat, Nantes are 17th with 32 points in 33 matches.
