Djordje will leave Montreal at the end of the season

CF Montreal has confirmed that American midfielder Djordje Mihailovic has officially been transferred to Europe.

The rumor was launched by the Kan FC podcast on Saturday morning and confirmed a few minutes later by 98.5 FM, the club’s turn today to certify the departure of Djordje Mihailovic for next January.

Considered by many to be one of the best players in MLS, Mihalovic will head to the Netherlands in 2023, joining the AZ Alkmaar team.

Rumors say that the Impact fetched up to 6M Euros in this transfer. But this information has not been confirmed by the club.

Footage of Mihailovic signing his new contract has been shared on social media by his new team.

The American said he was relieved to have settled this file, and now hopes to leave Montreal by lifting the cup in November.

According to some Dutch journalists, if CF Montreal’s season ends quickly in the fall and Mihailovic is not selected to go to the World Cup, he could join his new team this fall.
