DJ set, talks, game: LEGO celebrates the power of sport and creativity with 2 immersive days

Lhe LEGO group is organizing an event combining the themes of sport and culture from October 29 to October 30, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at 35 – 37 Rue Des Francs-Bourgeois (75004, Paris).

It was in 1916 that the Dane Ole Kirk Christiansen opened a carpentry dedicated to the manufacture of houses and furniture for farmers in the Billund region. As his workshop burned down six years later in the context of the Great Depression, he looked for an alternative to reduce his production costs and decided to manufacture miniature versions of his products to facilitate their design and thus LEGO toys were born.

Today, the group is celebrating the power of sport, culture, creativity and play with a free two-day immersive experience dubbed “FOR THE JOY OF PLAYING”. On the occasion, the architectural firm OMA, in collaboration with the design studio CONSUL – based in London – created a bespoke space divided into three zones for play and creation: La Cour and its mural fresco, Le Lab dedicated to talks and conferences hosted by sports professionals and creatives, including Ramdane Touhami, Stéphane Ashpool – artistic director of the Pigalle brand – or Youssouf Fofana, creator of the Maison Chateau Rouge brand. Finally, L’Arena, a place where LEGO foosball tournaments will be organized by the Welcome Projects, Le Monde FC, Jdid Club and Jouons Comme Elles collectives. Throughout the event, Wild & The Moon will serve its juices and Rinse FM will take care of the musical curation.
