Disney Star is renewing its exclusive Premier League broadcast rights for the next three seasons, from 2022/23 to 2024/25 for the Indian subcontinent. With this expansion, India’s premier broadcaster will be associated with the world’s biggest football league for more than two decades. Disney Star will continue to grow Premier League viewership across the Indian subcontinent by broadcasting all 380 matches on the Star Sports Network and on Disney+ Hotstar.
“We are delighted to continue our association with the Premier League and look forward to working together over the next three seasons. Our joint efforts have seen the league’s viewership grow and we remain committed to expanding its popularity as well as deepening its club affiliation,” said Sanjog Gupta, Head-Sports, Disney Star. “Along with the Premier League and the Indian Super League, we host the two most popular football leagues in India and we will continue our efforts to grow the football fandom in the country,” he added.
Paul Molnar, Premier League Media Director, said: “The Premier League is delighted to announce an extension to our exciting association with Disney Star. They will be an exceptional home for the Premier League over the next three seasons and we look forward to working together to introduce the League to new and existing fans across the Indian subcontinent. »
Disney Star has helped boost Premier League viewership more than 10 times over the past six years. Whether it’s making content available in additional regional streams – Malayalam and Bangla, creating country-specific campaigns over the years, or running on-the-ground activations like Select FC Screenings and Trophy Tours, Disney Star has spared no effort to grow the fanbase and also unite the fans.
