Diego Godin terminates contract with Cagliari and signs at Atlético Mineiro

Diego Godin and Cagliari, it’s over. The Uruguayan international central defender has terminated his contract with the Italian club, announced this Wednesday his now former team, with which the player has been playing since September 2020. Aged 35, Godin, the most capped Uruguayan international in history (153 selections), who could soon sign for Atlético Mineiro in Brazil, had played in Italy one season at Inter Milan, before joining Cagliari, current 18th in Serie A.

In the process, Godin committed until the end of the year – « With possibility of extension » – in favor of Atlético Mineiro, reigning Brazilian champion. He will notably find the Hulk.
