Didier Deschamps confirmed at the head of the Blues until the 2022 World Cup

End of doubts around the future of Didier Deschamps. In an interview given to Figaro, Thursday July 8, the president of the French Football Federation (FFF), Noël Le Graët, confirmed that Didier Deschamps would remain at the head of the France team until 2022, the year of the World Cup in Qatar. « There was no debate », confided Noël Le Graët, specifying that the issue had been resolved in three minutes. « His will to continue is very strong, so is mine », he assured, posting a « infinite confidence «  in Didier Deschamps.

After theearly elimination of France at Euro 2021 against Switzerland, Didier Deschamps had reason to wonder. But the goal remains the World Cup for the coach, who will have to rebuild his group, still upset by the defeat of June 28. « There is a question for which we both had no answer: how did we manage to take two goals in ten minutes against the Swiss? At 3-1, him like you, like me, we thought we had won … «  Le Graët said. The president of the FFF also confirmed that the staff close to Deschamps would remain unchanged.
