Derrick Rose extends to New York

The New York Knicks re-signed point guard Derrick Rose on Wednesday.

Terms of the contract were not disclosed, but ESPN previously reported that it was a three-year, $ 43 million contract.

Rose, 32, averaged 14.9 points and 4.2 assists in 35 games (three starts) with the Knicks after being acquired in a trade with the Detroit Pistons on February 8.

« Derrick’s arrival last season has played a major role in the success of our team and in the culture we have instilled.Knicks president Leon Rose said in a statement. « He continues to be a great player and teammate and is an extension of Coach (Tom) Thibodeau on the pitch. We look forward to him being a key part of our team going forward.«
