« Events like this put things in perspective, I wish Christian a speedy and complete recovery, » responded UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin of Slovenia.
The Danish Football Association also tweeted that their player was conscious and in stable condition upon arrival at nearby Rigshospitalen and will undergo further examinations. « I was able to speak to his father. Christian would be out of danger. He is conscious and can speak, » said his agent Martin Schoots, very moved, on the Dutch channel NOS. « It’s violent news. Everyone (around him) is in shock. It’s normal. His girlfriend is with him in the hospital. »
An iconic player
Christian Eriksen is one of Denmark’s most iconic players. He began his career in 2010 under the colors of Ajax Amsterdam, a club with which he notably won three Dutch league titles.
In 2013, he joined English team Tottenham Hotspur, with whom he reached the Champions League final six years later. Since 2020, he has worn the colors of Inter Milan. Danish international since 2010, Christian Eriksen participated in the 2010 World Cup, Euro 2012 and the 2018 World Cup. With 36 goals, he is the seventh top scorer in the history of the selection.
