CS Chebba calls for the suspension of the championship

The Chebba Sports Crescent demanded, today April 25, 2022, the suspension of the second phase of the Ligue 1 professional football championship (Play-off and play-out). And this, until the examination of the appeal that she had lodged.

This request comes following the decision of the National Professional Football League (LNFP) to validate the result acquired on the ground for the match Club Africain-CS Chebba (1-0), played on April 13 in Radès.

During a press conference, the secretary general of CS Chebba, Mohamed Brahim indicated that the evocation of his club was based on article 31. As well as on article 45 of the FTF’s disciplinary code .

In addition, he assured that « some parts of the LNFP and the FTF want to have CS Chebba in Ligue 2. And this, in a total transgression of the law ».

He also added that the club appealed on Monday for the reconsideration of his evocation. While stressing that the case will take a new turn at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

For his part, Vice-President Saber Bouatay declared that a favorable follow-up to the case by the CAS will have harmful repercussions. And this, on the play-off and the play-out.

 » There are the possibility of replaying the championship in its entirety if the African Club is crowned with a point difference”, he indicated.

It should be noted that CS Chebba contested the presence of the president of Club Africain, Youssef El Almi, on the playing area during the match counting for the 14th and last day of the first phase of Ligue 1.
