Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United): « I don’t follow records but records follow me »

On a collective level, Cristiano Ronaldo expected better for his return to Manchester United. Sixth in the Premier League, and therefore deprived of the Champions League in 2022-23, the Portuguese however distinguished himself on an individual level: 24 goals and 3 assists in all competitions (note: in club). In an interview granted Friday to the official website of the Red Devils, the five-time Ballon d’Or, who became the top scorer in history in official matches last March, returned to his personal performance.

« Records come naturallyadmitted the 37-year-old, who first spent at Manchester United between 2003 and 2009. I don’t follow the records but the records follow me. I always have the motivation to work hard. I still have this passion for the game. The club and my teammates help me on a daily basis. It’s always nice to score goals for this club. When I score a hat trick (note: three goals in a match), it’s even better. »
