Controversy in Dallas after the LeBron rumor: « If I were Luka Doncic, I… »

While Dallas is on fire following the latest Kyrie Irving and LeBron James rumors, team superstar Luka Doncic has yet to react too much. A journalist tried to put himself in the Slovenian’s shoes and made terrible confessions about him. It smells like the beginning of a crisis…

For the past few days, Texas has been burning. You will tell us that it is a pleonasm to say that as the region is famous for its high temperatures, but the latest rumors concerning the Mavericks have really raised the temperature. Since Kyrie Irving confessed to wanting to bring LeBron James back under the colors of the franchise, a lot of noise from the corridors starts to fuse and the fans inevitably fantasize.

Luka Doncic annoyed after the rumors?

In this story, one could almost understand that Kyrie Irving does not believe in the potential of Luka Doncic and that he wants another superstar on the roster to hopefully win a league title with the Mavericks. Difficult to interpret therefore, but Chris Broussard of Fox Sports tried to imagine what the Slovenian might be feeling right now, and is rather worrying about the mood in the group:

If I was Luka Doncic, I wouldn’t be really happy with all this. Obviously I love LeBron but if I was Luka, I wouldn’t want to play with him. LeBron is his idol, it’s not really about relationships here. But I would say to myself: “I have just finished my fourth year, I am the star”. Obviously, if LeBron comes, Luka will remain the best player but everyone will only talk about LeBron and his quest for a fifth ring.

With the way Bron plays, they could live together because LeBron knows how to play without the ball but if I was young like Luka, I would say: “I manage the situation. We were 5th before Kyrie came and now I see all this? Kyrie dictating how things will go? Ok, let me talk to Cuban (the owner, editor’s note), we have to do a sign-and-trade with Kyrie to add depth”. Kyrie took the franchise from 5th to 11th and has the audacity to rebuild the roster?

No half measures here, Luka Doncic could therefore be annoyed by this situation according to the journalist.
