Following the suspension of Ahmad Ahmad by FIFA in 2020, the seat of the president of CAF will become vacant. Constant Omari, then vice-president, will take the place of the Malagasy to act as interim and continue his mission. Constant Omari Selemani was born on January 14, 1958 in Bukavu, in eastern DR Congo. In June of the same year Constant Omari will also be suspended by FIFA for one year because of a sum of 64,444 euros in benefits he would have received. « From the company Lagardère Sports […] in the context of the negotiations he was leading ”. In its press release, the International Federation refers to « Negotiations, conducted by Mr. Omari on behalf of CAF, (which) had resulted in the establishment of contractual provisions extremely prejudicial for the Confederation, which had recorded considerable financial losses « .
