Congo: Massamba-Débat stadium in Brazzaville closed after the international break

A new report from the African Football Confederation calls for the closure of the Massamba-Débat stadium after the international break. The report is drawn up following a new inspection by the umbrella body of African football.

The Alphonse Massamba-Débat internship is added to the long list of stadiums suspended by CAF. This suspension comes into effect after Congo’s match against Namibia on the 5th day of the qualifiers. According to the report, the turf of the lawn is no longer in good condition and the lighting is insufficient. Congolese sports minister Hugues Ngouelondele confirms the news by declaring that he personally received the inspector’s report. He promises that the government will do everything to improve the aspects pinned by the report.

Final approval will be granted at the stadium if the imperfections are fully corrected in the coming period and a new CAF inspection confirms this.
