CONCACAF: LAFC fall to Club Leon in Champions League final game 1

Club Leon won the first match of the CONCACAF Champions League final by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday night against Los Angeles FC.
In its first appearance in the Champions League final, Club Leon took advantage of goals from William Tesillo and Angel Mena to win. Club Leon took seven shots on goal, compared to just two for LA
Club Leon quickly imposed their rhythm. From the 8th minute of play, Tesillo cleverly redirected the ball with his head after a corner kick to open the scoring and give his team the lead.
Club Leon added in the fifth minute of stoppage time in the first half. Mena took advantage of a penalty to fire a good shot into the top of the net and double Club Leon’s lead.
Despite relatively balanced ball possession between the two teams, Los Angeles was unable to close the gap. Dénis Bouanga hit the target in stoppage time late in the game, but the damage was already done.
The second game of the series will be played on Sunday, June 4.
