– Quebec as a whole does not want to know anything about Dalibor Dvorsky…
– The player with the LEAST SWAG in the TOP 10 of this DRAFT.
– Apart from a journalist from TVA Sports…
We need to have a serious conversation about Dalibor Dvorsky. The contempt for him has become excessive.
He is an EXCELLENT hockey player.
I understand that he is not the player you dream of, but he has more talent than you think.— Nicolas Cloutier (@NCloutierTVA) May 9, 2023
– And former CH scout Grant McCagg…
At this point, I do not see Dvorsky ending up with the Habs unless they stay at five, and even then it’s a longshot. He’s a top-five lock for me.

– And Craig Button from TSN…
INSTANT ANALYSIS – @CraigJButton makes the case for the Canadians to take Dalibor Dvorsky in his mock draft: https://t.co/ikj8KHltr9

– Absolutely everyone in Quebec REJECTS the Slovak without common sense….
– His skating is simply TOO AVERAGE to be desired.
– Some compare him to Mikael Backlund… others to Dylan Strome…
– Others to Ryan O’Reilly…
– All efficient TWO-WAY centers…but DIE-FLAT…
– The ATHLETIC even thinks he’s not fast enough on skates to be a center…
– Yuck…
– We don’t want to know anything…
– We will pray to heaven every evening..
– Everything…jump Dvorsky…
Background: Dvorsky’s play has been up and down this season versus men but he has been quite strong at the junior level in Sweden. He was an important part of Slovakia’s U20 team in both the winter and summer world juniors. He was the second leading scorer of the 2021 Hlinka Gretzky Cup behind Michkov. He was a top player at the U18 Worlds B Pool in 2022, leading Slovakia to promotion.
Analysis: Dvorsky is quite dangerous inside the offensive zone He has excellent puck skills in small areas and can make checkers miss routinely in open ice. He can make tough plays and find seams. He excels as a goal scorer, though, with a wrist shot and one timer that he can often finish from range. Dvorsky’s compete is good enough, he wins puck battles and he isn’t shy from using his body, but I’d like to see less perimeter play from him and more consistency overall. His footspeed is also going to be an issue for higher levels. I think with his offensive talent he finds a way to be a good top-six forward despite his skating, but I’m less sure whether he sticks down the middle or has to be a winger.
