The Indian cricket team took first place in the latest World Trials Championship standings with 14 points after their massive 151-point victory over England in Game 2 of an ongoing five-game series.

The rain forced toss in the opening test gave India four points and Lord’s outright 12-point victory. However, the team have 14 points in total, down from 16, as they were pegged at two points for a slow pass rate.

India is followed by Pakistan (12 points), which beat the West Indies by 109 points to tie the series.

The Caribbean team also has 12 points as they won the series opener and rank third in the standings.

England are ranked fourth with two points. They also lost two points, gained in the opening draw at Nottingham, due to their slow passing rate.

According to WTC rules, teams incur a penalty of one point for each of them. Each game won is worth 12 points while a tie gives teams six points. Four points are awarded for a draw.

The current WTC cycle will run until 2023. New Zealand became the first champion in June after beating India in the final.
