Christian Leca leaves the presidency of the ACA
Three days after AC Ajaccio joined Ligue 1, Christian Leca officially announced that he was leaving his post as club president. He was appointed there in July 2019.
As he had hinted for some time, Christian Leca hands over to the presidency of the ACA. He officially announced this Tuesday, May 17 via a press release:
« As mentioned recently, I chose not to continue the Ligue 1 adventure with AC Ajaccio as president. I will assume the management of current affairs until the eventual appointment of a new president. I will keep an unforgettable memory of these three sporting years. I remember the joys brought to me by these three seasons and especially the last, the most beautiful, of Saturday May 14, 2022 which will remain forever in my heart. »
Appointed president in July 2019, Christian Leca then set himself the goal of bringing the club up to Ligue 1 in three years. Last Saturday, thanks to the victory of his players against Toulouse, he won his bet.
He therefore leaves the presidency with the feeling of accomplishment while not forgetting to thank « all persons (employees, players, managers and supporters) who [lui] trusted during these three years« . And to add: « I was only the catalyst of a wonderful team that brought me so much satisfaction. I wish good luck to all members of the club. I will remain a faithful supporter of AC Ajaccio. »
It remains to be seen, now, who will take over from Christian Leca at the head of the Ajaccien club which will return to the elite of French football next season.
