Christian Horner set to remain at the helm of Red Bull until 2026

Christian Horner, who heads the Formula 1 team at Red Bull, is expected to extend his contract until at least 2026, according to an interview with Servus TV by Helmut Marko, Red Bull’s special adviser on motor racing. Neither party has yet confirmed this contract extension.

Horner (48) has been at the head of Red Bull Racing F1 since 2005. This former F3000 manager therefore accompanied, before Max Verstappen’s progress, Sebastian Vettel’s four world titles between 2010 and 2013, preparing the team Red Bull at the arrival of a leading driver.

« These discussions on Christian Horner’s contract extension predate Max Verstappen’s world title, » says Helmut Marko. He is a charismatic team boss and within the whole team, or at least in the most senior positions, we want to have stability for the years of transition to come, when the new rules on the engines (early 2026) then on the frames will arrive. We will have a strong team to face it. «

As to Max Verstappen’s contract with Red Bull, he runs until the end of the 2023 season.
