Christian Benteke (31) was on the back burner at Crystal Palace and he was looking for a new challenge. He found it: he will sign with DC United, the club of the capital Washington.
From American sources, a global agreement was reached on Friday and Benteke will join the club where former Anderlechtois Andy Najar plays. Nicolas Frutos is also in the technical staff. But no longer Hernan Losada, sacked in April.
Benteke, who had one year left on his contract at Palace, will become the biggest transfer in DC United’s history. He had been playing in England since 2012, when he left Genk for Aston Villa.
