Chelsea vs Liverpool clash in the Premier League could be postponed

Liverpool’s clash against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this weekend is said to be under the added threat of a postponement.

The Reds are due to travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea on Sunday afternoon. However, there are already doubts about the current game.

Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, last weekend’s top-flight matches have been postponed as a mark of respect. The monarch’s funeral is due to take place on Monday, September 19 and some reports have indicated there will be further postponements for a second round of fixtures.

According to the Mail Online, Sky Sports may be without a number of TV trucks for its match coverage this weekend. Sky is set to broadcast Liverpool’s trip to Chelsea at 4.30pm on Sunday.

It has been claimed that due to Sky News’ 24/7 coverage in preparation for the Queen’s funeral next weekend, Sky Sports may be without some TV trucks for their respective coverage. Other matches scheduled live on Sky this weekend are Aston Villa v Southampton, Tottenham v Leicester and Brentford v Arsenal.

The report says the possible lack of TV cameras has emerged as a ‘complicating factor’ for this weekend’s games – and cites Chelsea v Liverpool as a ‘high risk game’ as a result.
