Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) return to the track this week

The first tests of the year, with the 2022 cars, are still a long way off (scheduled in Barcelona from February 23 to 25). However, Ferrari has decided to put its drivers back in the bath this week, a little over a month after the end of the season (tests in Abu Dhabi in mid-December).

From Wednesday until Friday, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will drive on the Scuderia private test track in Fiorano with their single-seater from last year, the SF21. Robert Shwartzman, vice-champion of F2 in 2021 and Ferrari test driver will also be there. The Monegasque will open the ball on Wednesday, followed by his Spanish teammate before handing over the car to the young 19-year-old Russian driver.

This 2022 season will be marked by a major regulatory change that will upset the aerodynamics of single-seaters and probably the driving style of these single-seaters. The first Grand Prix of the year is scheduled for Bahrain on March 20.
