James Pantemis was in goal for the Montreal team.

Union quickly set their pace when Julian Carranza thwarted Pantemis with a superb strike in the 12th minute of the game.

Carranza also added another net during the game in the 61st minute.

The Montreal XI is now 10th in the Eastern Conference following this loss with a record of 6-1-9.

The troubles on the road continued for Hernán Losada’s men, who have won just one in ten games on the opposing courts this season.

Montreal will travel to Vancouver on Wednesday to face the Whitecaps in the Canadian Championship final.

They will then face Minnesota United FC, which will be at Saputo Stadium on Saturday in a regular MLS game.
