Cetilar Racing takes over the management of IMSA in 2022

It was an open secret, but the information is now official. Cetilar Racing takes the lead in the IMSA championship with the four endurance races of the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship on the program: Daytona, Sebring, Watkins Glen, Petit Le Mans.

The crew of the Ferrari 488 GT3 will be in the deja-vu since it will bring together Roberto Lacorte, Giorgio Sernagiotto and Antonio Fuoco. Andrea Belicchi will continue to play a role in the preparation of the team. Cetilar Racing was already at the start of the last 24 hours of Daytona, but with the Dallara P217 LMP2. The race ended with a 6th place in the category after gearbox problems.

To kick off the season at Daytona, Cetilar Racing will call on Alessio Rovera, recently crowned in WEC at AF Corse in GTE-Am.

« The decision to participate in the four most important endurance races of the IMSA Championship next year is the result of several factors »said Roberto Lacorte. « The first and most important being the desire to experience a new championship as protagonists. For Cetilar Racing it will be a high level challenge, stimulating, rich in history, tradition and interest. The 24 Hours of Daytona in last January, in which we participated with the LMP2 prototype, was a very nice experience that left us with a bitter taste in our mouths, so we promised ourselves to come back and in doing so, we decided to extend our presence to other great classics on the American calendar, which we look forward to facing in a very competitive class like GT. I would like to stress that our departure is not a farewell to the FIA World Endurance Championship, but only a goodbye. Finally, I extend a warm welcome to Alessio Rovera, an undoubtedly talented young driver, who will join us for the Daytona race. «
