C’Chartres Football will have to unite this Saturday against Chambly

“Given the circumstances, I would settle for one point,” announced Jean-Pierre Papin when he received Chambly, this Saturday, October 1st. To challenge this opponent relegated from National and presented as one of his rivals for the climb, the coach of C’Chartres Football will have little choice of arms. All his able players will be listed on the match sheet. He only has sixteen at his disposal…

Ricardo Faty not qualified

Already on the flank last week during the 4th round of the Coupe de France lost on penalties against FC Drouais (N3), captain Clément Chantôme (thigh) and Kévin Bru (adductors) were joined in the infirmary by Loic Gagnon and Pierre Picot. The first suffers from a slight sprain of the knee while the second contracted the Covid.

To make matters worse, former pro Ricardo Faty, the CCF’s latest recruit, is not qualified. Neither the ex-PSG striker Loris Arnaud, while Omare Gassama, who had been training with the CCF since July, finally signed in Sedan (National), we remind you.

It’s a very athletic team. We’re going to be pushed around in this area, I think. But it is also a team that has already lost twice. So there will be possibilities…

« It’s complicated, but we’re going to defend and we’re going to fight like dogs, » promises JPP. Undefeated for three matches in the league (two 1-0 wins at Caen and 3-2 against Saint-Pryvé then a 1-1 draw at Châteaubriant), Chartres will seek above all not to lose tonight. It might not allow him to nibble points on the head, but it would ensure he leaves Chambly, his immediate pursuer, in his rear view mirror.

French Cup / 4th round: FC Drouais qualifies on penalties against C’Chartres Football [relire le direct]

“It’s a very athletic team. We’re going to be pushed around in this area, I think. But it is also a team that has already lost twice. So there will be possibilities, imagine Jean-Pierre Papin. It’s up to us to find the right flaws. It will be necessary to be well organized, well disciplined above all else. And if we can win, we won’t hesitate! »

It would be a pleasant surprise for his supporters, until circumstances improve…

Chambly, a family story.
Relegated from National, FC Chambly may have fallen back this year into the relative anonymity of N2. But, under the rule of the Luzi family (father Walter and sons Fulvio and Bruno), its colorful founders, the Oise club has achieved one of the craziest rises in the history of football in France. Created in 1989 and started at the bottom of the departmental pyramid, in D5, FC Chambly has climbed twelve rungs in thirty years, to reach Ligue 2, in 2019. Not without having taken the city of 10,000 inhabitants into the whirlwind of a Coupe de France semi-final, lost against Les Herbiers (2018). The club remained two short seasons in the antechamber of the elite before two successive relegations. These descents were fatal to coach Bruno Luzi (who had taken the reins of the team in D1!), sidelined by his brother president during last season. During the summer, it was Fabien Valéri who settled on the Picard bench after having celebrated a rise in National with Paris 13 Atletico, now driven by Jean-Guy Wallemme. The technician has a completely renewed group. Of the eighteen players used since the start of the championship, no less than sixteen have just arrived! Among them, many elements from Ile-de-France N2 clubs. The idea was to start from a blank page with the objective of returning to National in the short term. If Chambly still suffers from a lack of automation, it still displays a balanced balance sheet. The Picards, performing better away, went on to win 3-0 at Châteaubriant and 2-1 at Vannes, but they lost 1-0 at Granville and 2-0 against Evreux on the last day.
