Capitals dismiss Lapierre with Acadie-Bathurst in QMJHL
Washington Capitals fired Hendrix Lapierre in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan on Wednesday.
The 19-year-old forward will therefore end the season in the junior ranks. He’s scored one goal in six games with the Capitals this season, having carved out a spot on the team after training camp.

Washington’s first-round pick (22nd overall) in the 2020 Draft had been taken out of the roster in three of the Capitals’ most recent four encounters. He has 93 points (23 goals, 70 assists) in 88 games in the QMJHL with the Chicoutimi Saguenéens, who traded him to the Titan last summer.

Fucale recalled from the American League
In addition, the Capitals recalled Quebec goaltender Zach Fucale from Hershey, in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Fucale and the keepers Ilya Samsonov and Vitek Vanecek all three were on the ice for the Capitals’ practice on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old Laval native is 3-0-2 with a 1.73 goals-against average and .933 save percentage in five games for Hershey this season. He is tied for second among AHL goaltenders in terms of average (minimum four games played).
A second-round pick (36th overall) by the Montreal Canadiens in 2013, Fucale has never played in the NHL.
