Canada remains undefeated at World Juniors


MONTREAL – Joshua Roy was scoreless in Canada’s 5-1 win over the Czech Republic on Saturday night at the 2022 World Junior Hockey Championship.

Head coach Dave Cameron’s squad are undefeated after three games in Edmonton and sit first in Group A with nine points.

Roy was the most-used Canadian forward in the game, accumulating 20:17 of ice time.

Only defender Olen Zellweger was deployed longer, he who played 20 min 24 s of the clash.

Captain Mason McTavish continued to lead the offensive charge for Canada, scoring his tournament-high fifth and sixth goals.

Jan Mysak was knocked off the scoresheet in the Czech Republic’s loss.

Canadian Riley Kidney was left out.

Oliver Kapanen and Petteri Nurmi will hit the ice in Finnish uniforms in a match against Slovakia, starting at 2 p.m. ET on Sunday.
