Visa, the exclusive digital payment service provider for the 2021 Total Energy Africa Cup of Nations (CAN), marks this year’s competition in Cameroon by creating unique new experiences for cardholders and football fans and in seeking to help expand access to the financial system in Africa, according to a note received by Abidjan.net.

Visa offers a unique experience to Cameroonian children aged 8 to 12, accompanied by a tutor, the possibility of participating in the Player Support Program and entering the field before CAN matches with a player from professional football. These places are allocated through a series of activities, including promotions with Visa and a partnership with Green Girls, an organization that trains young African girls to produce energy from the sun and waste in rural communities. In addition, Visa card holders and football fans who will visit the stadium during the tournament in Cameroon and pay with their Visa card will have the opportunity to earn unique CAN memorabilia signed by international football star Didier Drogba.
