CAN 2025: Djahid Zefizef announces the candidacy of Algeria

After the withdrawal of the organization of the CAN 2025 in Guinea, Algeria is a candidate to host the event. This was declared by the president of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF), Djahid Zefizef. He said that Algeria has the infrastructure to host the continental event.

Having arrived at the head of the Algerian Football Federation on July 7, Djahid Zefizef is already displaying his great ambitions. As the draw for the 2022 African Nations Championship takes place on his soil, he took advantage of his welcome speech to make a big announcement. The president of the FAF announced live, to the face of the world, the candidacy of Algeria to host the CAN 2025. Zefizef let it be known that his country has everything it takes to host the competition.

“We are confident in our ability to organize. We also ensure the development of African football. I therefore declare from here our candidacy, to organize the 25th edition of the African Cup of Nations in 2025,” said Djahid Zefizef in his speech.

In history, Algeria has already hosted the CAN once. It was the 17th edition in 1990, an edition that the Fennecs had won, the first title in their history in the charts.
