CAN 2022: The date of the draw fixed


The countries qualified for the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations 2022 will be fixed soon. The Confederation of African Football announces the draw for Friday, September 16.

The race to eight for the succession of Senegal is about to be launched. The 2022 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations will be played from October 21 to 28. A week of competition that will take place in Mozambique, in the magnificent town of Vilankulo.

The Confederation of African Football will draw lots for the two groups in the competition on Friday, September 16, 2022. It will be in the morning at 9 a.m. GMT, « with a live broadcast via CAF’s digital platforms », informs the body of African football.

The Beach Soccer CAN is in its fifth edition this year. The tournament took place in 2015 in the Seychelles, 2016 in Nigeria, 2018 in Egypt then 2021 in Senegal. The Senegalese have also won the last three editions.

Here are the eight qualified teams:

Mozambique: qualified as host country and finalist of the 2021 edition
Senegal: Winner of three successive editions of the Beach Soccer CAN (2016, 2018 and 2021)
Nigeria: Bronze medalist in 2015, runner-up in 2016 and 2018. Missed the 2021 edition.
Uganda: Semi-finalist in 2021
Madagascar: Winner of the Beach Soccer CAN in 2015
Malawi: First participation in the Beach Soccer AFCON
Egypt: Bronze medalist in 2016 and 2018
Morocco: Qualified for its 5th consecutive Beach Soccer AFCON, bronze medalist in 2021
