Claude Le Roy has taken part in the Africa Cup of Nations nine times as a coach.

Disrupted preparations were a major factor in the low number of goals scored at the Africa Cup of Nations, according to experienced former manager Claude Le Roy.

The clubs were only forced to release their players on January 3, just six days before the start of the tournament.

Hosts Cameroon are the only team to score two or more goals in a match, while 10 of the first 14 matches ended 1-0 – with two 0-0 draws.

“Fifa has allowed clubs to let players arrive at the last minute and that means the first matches are like preparation or training matches,” says Frenchman Le Roy, who led Cameroon to glory in Nations Cup in 1988.
