CAN 2021: Guinea deprived of 4 players tested positive for Covid-19

The curtains open on December 09, 2022 for the kick-off of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. This great mass for African football begins this afternoon, while the teams continue to make the final adjustments. 24 hours from its entry into the running, Guinea records 4 forfeits due to Covid-19.

On the eve of its match against Malawi on January 10, the Guinean selection has just recorded four new cases of Covid-19 in the ranks of players. Indeed, Ibrahima Sory Conté, Morgan Guilavogui, Fodé Camara and Mory Konaté have tested positive. As a result, these four players will be absent in Guinea’s first match against Malawi. However, it should be noted that these cases are in addition to those already known, in particular Seydouba Soumah and Mickael Dyrestam.

The national Syli currently has 20 players for its first match of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
