Patrice Motsepe will be in Conakry, who still does not really know if CAN 2025 will be confirmed for him.

A month after the inspection visit of the Confederation of African Football, its president Patrice Motsepe is expected this Friday in Guinea. “President Motsepe will meet His Excellency Colonel Mamadi Doumbouya, President of the Transition of Guinea this Friday afternoon in Conakry. He will be joined by CAF General Secretary Véron Mosengo-Ombasays a press release from CAF. Before meeting Colonel Doumbouya, Dr Motsepe will meet with the management of the Guinean Football Federation (Feguifoot, currently headed by a standardization committee, editor’s note), the Minister of Youth and Sports, Lansana Bea Diallo, and the Prime Minister, Head of Government Dr Bernard Goumou. »

From 16 to 24 teams…

Last month, Guinea had seen CAF procrastinate. “We will see how find solutions to help Guinea. We did not come to remove the organization from Guineahad then indicated Mathurin de Chacus, president of the Beninese Football Federation and head of this inspection mission. We have come to see if Guinea has proposals to convince CAF to always trust hime for the organization of this CAN 2025. «

While infrastructure is still slow to be built, divestiture rumors ran this summer. Designated to host a 16-team finals in 2014, Colonel Doumbouya’s Guinea makes this 24-a-side tournament a national priority. But does it have the means, and what does the Confederation think of it? Answers could emerge from Patrice Motsepe’s visit on Friday.
