Bruno Bolchi, the first footballer to be depicted on a Panini sticker, is dead


Former Italy (4 caps in 1961) and Inter Milan (1956-1963) midfielder Bruno Bolchi, player featured on the first Panini card printed in 1961, died on Wednesday at the age of 82 years, the sticker maker announced on Twitter.

Panini Group, an Italian company based in Modena, is world famous for its World Cup player cards and sticker albums, which have been released for every tournament since 1970.

Bolchi also played for Hellas Verona (1963-1964), Atalanta Bergamo (1964-1965) and Juventus Turin (1965-1970).
