Blake Griffin, it’s nice
– That said, not sure that Brooklyn would have come out of this game 1 unscathed if the « other » members of Steve Nash’s group had not « step up », Blake Griffin in particular. Griffin had one of his best NBA games in a long time, especially in the context of the playoffs. The former player of the Los Angeles Clippers was decisive in this game 1. Besides his double-double (18 points, 14 rebounds), it is his fighting spirit that marked the spirits. The energy deployed by Griffin, released under a standing ovation after his 6th foul at the end of the 4th quarter.

We can criticize the principle of stars or former stars who join others to try to get a ring, but it’s still nice to see Blake Griffin restore his image after appearing in distress in Detroit. The 19 points of Joe harris and the 12 units of Mike James, who played 30 minutes off the bench due to Harden’s injury) were also valuable.

The Greek Freak couldn’t prevent his team’s defeat, but he could hardly do more than that. With 34 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 blocks, Giannis was at his level. This is not necessarily the case with his friend Khris Middleton, admittedly in double-double (13 pts, 13 rebounds) but clumsy (6/23) or the bench of the Bucks, who shot at 5/19 cumulatively.
It is likely that Brooklyn will be happy to let Giannis Antetokounmpo hit in every game as long as his comrades have a little more trouble putting in.
