The match between Brazil and Argentina, counting for the qualifications for the 2022 World Cup, was interrupted after only a few minutes, this Sunday evening, after the intervention of an agent of the Brazilian Health Watch Agency ( Anvisa).

A ministerial order dated June 23 prohibits entry into Brazilian territory to any foreign person from the United Kingdom, India or South Africa, to prevent the spread of variants of Covid-19.

La Conmebol issued a terse statement in which it explained that the referee and the match delegate « will submit a report to the FIFA Disciplinary Committee, which will determine the steps to be followed, in accordance with the regulations in force. »
