Brandon Ingram in Miami against 4 players? The trade that would do the trick

Sweeped in the first round, the Heat want to return in 2021-22 with a workforce capable of targeting the NBA Finals. For that, a third star could be the solution, and the Pelican Brandon Ingram ticks all the boxes. We take stock.

Finalists last year, the players of South Beach are yet out in the first round this season. It only took four games for Milwaukee to tame Jimmy butler & co., which therefore end up on vacation. Not really the scenario envisioned by the franchise, which wants to bounce back quickly.

Indeed, the 2020 Finals gave Erik Spoelstra’s squad a taste of blood, and she wants to relive the experience. From this perspective, the arrival of a new star seems necessary. Yes Damian Lillard was discussed in Florida, the solution could well be found in the West, in the Bayou.

The latest rumors thus state of a possible end of course for the duo Zion Williamson – Brandon Ingram. The latter might have to leave New Orleans, and Miami would be a ready-made destination. One could in particular imagine the following scenario, which would see Pat Riley send a third of his workforce to Louisiana:

• The Heat receives: Brandon ingram
• Pelicans receive: Kendrick Nunn, Duncan Robinson, Tyler herro, Precious Achiuwa and a first round pick

Herro disappointing during the playoffs, Robinson and Nunn can hope for big contracts this summer, Miami could therefore get rid of the puzzle they represent by exchanging them. With Ingram, Erik Spoelstra would have a real scoring machine, thus relieving Buckets of a lot of responsibilities in attack. The fit with Bam Adebayo could also be very promising.

On the New Orleans side, it would be a clear sign towards Zion Williamson, which would find itself No. 1 without dispute in the franchise. He would then be accompanied by young players able to blend into a collective. The outside address of Robinson and Herro could also be very useful, both to open spaces inside and to exploit his qualities in the pass.

Here is a file that will be to follow this offseason. Brandon Ingram has plenty to intrigue a lot of competing franchises, and it wouldn’t be disproportionate to think that one of them will get the hang of him. How about Miami?
